Hair & Make-Up
If you need help with hair and make-up the day of recital, we got you covered! Sign up online by clicking the link below. Hair is $6 and make-up is $6. We will put the charges on your account – you can prepay or bring cash day of.
Please arrive 45 minutes early if you need help with hair and make-up.
Tickets
Ticket sales will happen ONLINE through Tututix starting at 8am on Friday, May 17th.
In order to purchase tickets you need an access code. To receive your access code, your account balance must be $0.
- After close of business on Thursday, May 16th we will email everyone whose balance is $0 their access codes. This email will also include a link to purchase the tickets.
- Please stop by the front desk or pay your balance through the portal in full before that date to receive your code.
- After May 16th you will need to stop by the desk to receive your code once you settle your account.
There are two pricing tiers ($40 and $35 + fees). Parents with students in two shows will receive 2 free tickets.
Program Ads
We produce a full size program for each recital. There will be photos of each class, however a lot of parents will opt to give their dancer an individual shoutout through an ad. This is a great opportunity to support your dancer and have a keepsake forever! If you own a business, you are also more than welcome to place an ad for your business.

All charges will be placed on your account and can be paid through Cash, Check, Credit Card, Zelle, or the Parent Portal. Please allow 3-4 business days for the charges to appear.
If you need someone to design your ad, we are happy to do so for an additional $10. If we have any questions while designing, please expect to receive an email from janaye@visually-speaking.com.
You can either upload a photo to use in your ad, or choose a photo from Picture Week to use in your ad. You can view photos from picture week here: https://duvalldanceacademy.shootproof.com/ . Please refer to the Recital Newsletter your students will get during picture week or the Recital Newsletter email for the gallery password.
Recital T-Shirts
Each year we sell recital t-shirts with the recital name and graphic on the front and a list of the participants on the back. Shirts are $25 and unisex in size. Please fill out the form below to purchase a shirt.

Dress Rehearsal
The day before recital, we have a dress rehearsal at the venue. This allows the dancers a chance to get acclimated to the environment, see what it is like to be on stage, and have one last chance to practice their routines.
This is MANDATORY for all dancers. Parents, grandparents, siblings, etc are not permitted to attend dress rehearsal to allow the dancers to rehearse without distractions.
We will also be staging the opening number during these rehearsals!

Friday, June 7
- 1:00pm Show: 5-7pm
- 5:30pm Show: 7-8:30pm
What to Wear:
Come dressed in your first costume and bring any other ones in their garment bags.
Hair and Make-up does not need to be done. However, hair should be secured in a simple bun or ponytail.
Recital Tips
We know that recital can be stressful – especially for first-time dancers and families! We’ve created a reminder checklist to help you keep everything straight.
Dates Before the Show:
- May 3 - 5: Attend Picture Weekend
- Thursday, May 16: Ticket access codes sent to accounts with $0 balance
- Friday, May 17: Ticket sales start online at 8am
- Monday, May 20: Deadline to order recital shirts, program ads, and flowers
- Friday, June 7: Dress rehearsal at Lake Brantley High School
Week of the Show:
- Double check costume bag for all accessories (we will update the costume list during Picture Week so it includes a list of accessories each costume should have)
- Double check shoes & tights to ensure they look clean and don't have any holes
- Sign-up and pre-pay for hair and make-up help online
Day Of:
- Drop off and sign in dancers 45 minutes before the show starts dressed in their first costume. Other costumes and shoes should be brought in their garment bags.
- Bring list of 'need to knows' if applicable.
- Pay for hair and make-up if you need help and haven't already.
- Pick up pre-ordered flowers.
- Purchase a recital program.
- Purchase a recital video.
- Doors open 15 minutes before the show starts.
- Shows should last around 75 minutes with a 10 minute intermission.
- Candy and other snacks will be available for purchase during intermission.
- Dancers will remain backstage with our team of volunteers during the entire show. When the show ends, we will release them to their parents.
