Show Order

This year’s recital will have 2 shows starting at 1:00pm and 5:30pm. Both shows are unique and last around 90 minutes (not including the 10 minute intermission). Doors open 15 minutes before the show starts. Below lists classes that are in each show by class name and class time.

Hair & Make-Up

If you need help with hair and make-up the day of recital, we got you covered! Check the costume list below to see what hair and make-up you should have for each dance you are in.

Please arrive 45 minutes early if you need help with hair and make-up.

Tickets

All ticket sales will go through TutuTix – an online ticketing platform.

Pricing

  • Tickets are $40 + fees or $35 + fees depending on the location in the auditorium
  • Families with students in both shows will receive two free tickets so parents can easily view both shows.

Delivery

  • There are no physical tickets. You will need the confirmation email from TutuTix to enter the show.

Sales

  • Ticket sales will open online at 8am on Saturday, May 20th.
  • Families who pre-paid tuition for the year in advance will receive early access starting on May 15th.
  • A code is required to purchase tickets. Each family will be emailed a code in the week leading up May 20th. Your account must be up-to-date in order to receive your code to purchase tickets. 

Program Ads

We are going back to our usual size program this year! That means, regular size ads are available for purchase. This is a great opportunity to support your dancer and have a keepsake forever!

– Inside Front Cover Ad (Color, one available) $250
– Inside Back Cover Ad (Color, one available) $250
– Full Page Ad (Black & White) $150
– 1/2 Page Ad (Black & White) $90
– 1/4 Page Ad (Black & White) $65
– 1/8 Page Ad (Business Card Size, Black & White) $35
– Backstage Bravo (Text Only Shoutout for your dancer) $10

All charges will be placed on your account and can be paid through Cash, Check, Credit Card, Zelle, or the Parent Portal. Please allow 3-5 business days for the charges to appear.

If you need someone to design your ad, we are happy to do so for an additional $10. If we have any questions while designing, please expect to receive an email from duvalldance@gmail.com.

You can either upload a photo to use in your ad, or choose a photo from Picture Week to use in your ad. You can view photos from picture week here: https://duvalldance.shootproof.com/ . Please refer to the Recital Newsletter your students will get during picture week or the Recital Newsletter email for the gallery password.

Dress Rehearsal

The day before recital, we have a dress rehearsal at the venue. This allows the dancers a chance to get acclimated to the environment, see what it is like to be on stage, and have one last chance to practice their routines. 

This is MANDATORY for all dancers.  Parents, grandparents, siblings, etc are not permitted to attend dress rehearsal to allow the dancers to rehearse without distractions.

Friday, June 9, 2023

  • Opening Number: 2:30pm – 3:30pm 
  • All Other Numbers: 4:00pm – 6:30pm

What to Wear:

Come dressed in your first costume and bring any other ones in their garment bags.

Hair and Make-up does not need to be done. However, hair should be secured in a simple bun or ponytail. 

 

Recital Tips

We know that recital can be stressful – especially for first-time dancers and families! We’ve created a reminder checklist to help you keep everything straight. 

Dates Before the Show:

  • Friday-Sunday, May 5-7: Attend Picture Weekend
  • Friday, May 19 EOD: Ticket sale access codes sent via email
  • Saturday, May 20 @ 8am: Ticket sales start online
  • Sunday, May 21: Deadline to order recital t-shirts and program ads
  • Friday, June 9: Dress rehearsal from 4-6:30pm at Wekiva High School
  • Saturday, June 10: Show Day at Wekiva High School

Week of the Show:

  • Double check costume bag for all accessories (we will update the costume list during Picture Week so it includes a list of accessories each costume should have)
  • Double check shoes & tights to ensure they look clean and don't have any holes
  • Sign-up and pre-pay for hair and make-up help at the studio
  • Make a list of 'need to knows' about your dancer for our volunteers to have during recital. This is not necessary, but is helpful if there is something important we need to consider. (ex: allergies to common things)

Day Of:

  • Drop off and sign in dancers 45 minutes before the show starts dressed in their first costume. Other costumes and shoes should be brought in their garment bags.
  • Bring list of 'need to knows' if applicable.
  • Pay for hair and make-up if you need help and haven't already.
  • Pick up pre-ordered flowers.
  • Purchase a recital program.
  • Purchase a recital video.
  • Doors open 15 minutes before the show starts.
  • Shows should last around 90 minutes with a 10 minute intermission.
  • Candy and other snacks will be available for purchase during intermission.
  • Dancers will remain backstage with our team of volunteers during the entire show. When the show ends, we will release them to their parents.
